Hello
Firstly sorry for no report for Tuesday but we all had other things planned for that night so we didnt turn up.
Thursday saw alot of activity mainly to do with keeping the building warm
This saw me and keith with some help from roger and alex fitting insulation boards to the old skylight sections which have been felted over for years, this area is realy bad in winter as any heat just simply escapes through these.
First we set up two ladders one on either side of the layout where stubbins is and with one board balanced between two ladders and two people we positioned into place, tried using screws but it just wouldnt hold so we decided to use no nails and slating nails which worked a treat.
With me and Keith up the ladders we would remove any old nails out of the way then squirt alot of no nails along each wooden joist and then place the board onto it, find the joists with a long nail and nail in. simple.....
Till we started on the second sheet, remember these sheets measure 4ft wide so balancing with it isnt an easy task even when the sheet wont fit, so a bit of trimming later and more slat nails we had the second and third sheet in with just an odd section to do which alex said he would attempt.
With alex up a ladder he measured up the odd section and roger cut it out for him, keith passed it to him which by now he had covered the joists in no nails and armed with slating nails he began banging away....gentle wasnt an option with him!!
next he went round every joint and duct taped them to blend in.
Alan has been busy pottering away completing mill 8.

Hopefully next week we will be there tuesday if not thursday.
See you
Dan
